Hello!  I’m Wendy Lovatt

Reiki Master and the name behind Reiki Animal Healer.

I could tell you that I am passionate about animals and how growing up I helped animals in need along with my mum. All of that is true, but the reason I wanted to help animals and become a Reiki Animal Healer is slightly different. It all began with my first dog, Benji, a Jack Russell Terrier who I got as a puppy when I was 14 years old. He showed me a side to animals that will always stay in my heart.

Benji About Me

When Benji was placed into my arms one morning when he was the tiniest puppy, his tail was no bigger than the tip of my little finger, I felt that wonderful feeling of love. I am sure you all know that feeling, it’s amazing isn’t it? As I was teaching Benji, I realised he was teaching me so much in return. When I was 7 years old I lost most of my hearing to meningitis, which is why there is no phone number on my website, phones can be a little tricky to hear on. Benji had this sixth sense and part of it was that, he somehow realised I couldn’t hear certain things.  No one taught him, but when I was home alone he’d alert me to the phone ringing, the knock at the door, even the fact I forgot the pan on the stove one day. Yet, when someone else was in the house, he ignored those things, apart from the door. No dog can resist someone knocking at the door!

Benji also showed me that even though he was a terrier, he had so much empathy and compassion for other animals. He loved next door’s cat Lucy, defending her and bringing her back, washing her face, when another cat attacked her. His caring even to the point where when on a walk he ran up to a crow, but when the crow couldn’t fly away, he just sat quietly and waited for us. Yes, we took the crow home and found someone to rehabilitate him.

“His lesson that animals shouldn’t be defined by a stereotype. That each is capable of compassion to other species, were just a couple of the insights he gave me.”

I am sure that you all know that feeling too, when one of your animal companion’s jumps into your arms and you feel their body relax as they trust you to protect and love them. Whether they are scared, not feeling well, or just so happy to see you come home. That feeling is genuine and in my opinion one of the best to ever experience. True love in it’s purest form.

All the animals I have met, whether my companions or ones that I just meet for a short time, each one has made an impression on me. They give so much to us in so many ways, they don’t have to, they want to and with no ulterior motive. Animals opened my eyes to knowing that it’s so important to give back to them and help them the best we can and be their voice. Healing was a natural succession in my chosen path to help animals, which is where Reiki came into my life. I am a certified  Reiki Master/Teacher, with a Reiki lineage leading back to Dr Mikao Usui.

Reiki is mostly taught on humans, but is easily adapted for animals as the healing energy works the same for all species and situations. I decided early on that Reiki for animals would be my healing pathway. This does not mean that I don’t do Reiki for people, as anyone in need should have this available to them. This is why I do accept Distance Healing human clients, sometimes it is beneficial for the animal and their human guardian if they both have Reiki in certain circumstances.

“I look forward to embarking on a Reiki journey with you and your animal companion and hearing stories about how animals have helped you too.”

Feel free to share your animal stories with me
